Multi-Step Lice Removal Treatment Process

There are so many ways to treat head lice! Meticulice™ believes, after extensive research, that all methods are not equal and that the Shepherd Method™ of strand by strand nit removal is superior to all other treatments. This creates a foolproof method where there are no shortcuts, just successful removal of head lice & nits. Meticulice™ is a Long Island, New York based company trained & certified in the renowned Shepherd Method of head lice removal. The Shepherd Method is without a doubt, the most thorough, manual method available. We love what we do and we take lice removal seriously! We never try to rush the job, which means that we do more than just comb.

We use our clinically tested Solve-It! Serum™ natural herbal serum that is applied to the scalp & hair to break down the exoskeleton of the lice and help loosen the fixative glue that secures the nits to the hair shaft.

This is followed by a thorough combing of the hair, which removes 80 to 85 % of all head lice and nits.

Next, hair is sectioned off and examined in paper thin layers ensuring that all visible head lice and nits have been removed from each strand of hair. This requires a highly skilled and precise specialist.

We then proceed to completed a thorough recheck to ensure that all head lice and nits have been removed.

Once complete, hair is detangled and spritzed with our Minty & Melly’s Defense & Detangler spray, and pulled back in a ponytail, braid or bun. It should stay on for at least two hours and be washed out prior to going to bed. We are so confident in our ability that we guarantee your child will be back in school the next day!

After Lice Removal

Follow-Up Lice Wet Head Check

We include a follow-up lice head check 2 to 7 days after initial treatment. This is crucial to ensure that new contact has not occurred since clients often go right back to the environment where they contracted head lice. Our guarantee can not be honored should these recheck appointment be missed. They generally take around 20 minutes per head.

We also can provide a home cleaning service with a crew that is specially trained to thoroughly clean your home, so we can help take the stress out of an already stressful situation! Please contact us for more information.
